A motor cyclist has sustained serious injuries after a collision on the R103 near Polly Shorts involving a motor cyclist and an SUV this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the road in severe pain. He had suffered serious injuries and even possible fractures to his lower extremities. Advanced Life Support Intervention had to be performed before the man could be moved onto a specialised board and transported to Northdale Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further medical care.
The driver of the SUV was examined but was in shock and would go privately to her doctor if need be.

This past Sunday, 18 July 2010, my family and I witnessed the aftermath of a serious accident involving a motorcycle on the Helshoogte Pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. I was just wondering if there is any information regarding the condition of the rider? I hope he survived, but the condition of the bike was awful (it was in pieces) and the image still haunts me. I really really hope that the guy survived!
