3 people have died and 3 others sustained injuries following a collision on the R549 this afternoon.
The cause of the collision is unknown, but a passenger vehicle with 6 occupants had collided with a tipper truck. The collision resulted in the passenger vehicle overturning multiple times.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found that 3 of the occupants in the passenger vehicle, 2 female passengers and the male driver, had sustained various fatal injuries. They were later declared dead at the scene.
The 3 other occupants sustained injuries ranging from suspected back and neck injuries to various scrapes and bruises. They received treatment at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care.
The driver of the tuck sustained no injuries in the incident and refused any on-scene treatment or transportation. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.

We arrived at the scene within a minute or two of it happening. The white vehicle tried to make a u-turn narrowly missing one of my club members on his motorcycle. The tipper truck then collided with the car as it attemted to turn. Some of the people with us from other cars and my members tried to help the people in the vehicle while the police stood by and watched. We eventually left as there was nothing further we could do.
