14 killed in Mpumalanga weekend crashes


Mpumalanga’s community safety department says a total of 14 people died in four separate accidents in the province since Saturday afternoon.

Four people were killed and five others injured when a light delivery vehicle overturned in Middelburg on Sunday, spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said late on Sunday.

The driver lost control of the vehicle when the tyre burst.

The injured were taken to a hospital in Middelburg.

Six people were killed when their car crashed into an oncoming truck on the N12 highway near Witbank on Saturday afternoon.

Also on Saturday, two people were killed and 11 others were injured in a head-on collision between a minibus taxi and a car near Mbombela, said Mmusi.

Two people were also killed when a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided on the N11 near Woostallen Mine in Middelburg.

    Their was a accident on the 6th February 2012 about 3:00 just before the Middelburg toll plaza, can anyone tell me more about it, as it happened next to us and would like to know more details about the people involved.
