12 Zimbabwean nationals were injured one critically in a roll- over accident on the N1 South 10 kilometers outside Polokwane. Details of the accident are still speculative, however the taxi was traveling towards Mokopani when the driver lost control and his vehicle overturned several times. The crumpled remains of the vehicle came to rest several meters down the road on its side.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and found the patients laying at the road side and after triaging found that one patient was critically injured, 5 people sustained serious injuries while 6 passengers miraculously escaped with only minor injuries.
Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise all the wounded. The critically injured patient was airlifted by the Red Cross helicopter while all the other patients were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for further treatment.
