Two injured in Tinley manor aircraft crash

Two men were injured when their light aircraft ditched in the shallows off the coast of Tinley Manor, North of Durban, this afternoon.

It is unknown what prompted the two men to eject during the test flight. Both men safely ejected and their parachutes deployed. As they descended both were injured when they made contact with the ground, one man seriously so.

Netcare911 Paramedics were first to arrive at the scene and treated and stabilised both men. The seriously injured man was airlifted by the Air Mercy Services Red Cross Helicopter to the Netcare Umhlanga Hospital. His companion was transported by ambulance to the same medical facility.
