ER24 Spinal Injury Assistance
A matriculant died on Saturday after sustaining a neck injury during a school rugby match.
The incident occurred in Mamre, near Atlantis.
At the time, Adam Davids’s team, Piketberg B was up against Mamre B.
The police’s Cyril Dicks said 20-year-old Davids died on the scene.
“He was a matriculant. Unfortunately at the end of the first half of the match he sustained the injury,” he said.
