A man believed to be in his mid 30’s sustained 100% burn wounds during the early hours of this morning when his house caught fire.
Shortly after 03:00 paramedics rushed to the house in Bophelong, Van Der Bijl Park, where they found the house still well alight. The Van Der Bijl Park Fire Department extinguished the home and conducted a search.
Members of the Fire Department found the man lying on the floor with serious burn wounds. Paramedics from ER24 rushed the man off to the Sebokeng hospital where he later died.
The cause for the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
