A man died and three people were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and bakkie on the N2 outside Gonubie on Wednesday, Eastern Cape police said.
“The accident happened at about 6:00. The driver of the Hyundai truck died on impact. We had to use the jaws of life to cut him out,” Captain Stephen Marais said.
The driver of the bakkie and two passengers, who were on their way to East London, were injured and taken to hospital.
A case of culpable homicide had been opened, Marais said.
