brown_recluse1

Due to the good rain and hot climate the Violin Spider is moving into houses. It is often seen as a ‘Daddy longlegs’ spider and not the dangerous Violin spider. Please take note of this spider – it is very dangerous. Please warn kids and send to every one you know to alert them as well!

This spider is breading at a incredible rate and is found in more and more South-African houses!!!!

The brown recluse spider or violin spider, Loxosceles reclusa, is a well-known member of the family Sicariidae (formerly placed in a family “Loxoscelidae”).

Brown recluse spiders are usually between 6–20 mm (¼ in and ¾ in), but may grow larger. While typically light to medium brown, they range in color from cream-colored to dark brown or blackish gray. The cephalothorax and abdomen may not necessarily be the same color.

These spiders usually have markings on the dorsal side of their cephalothorax, with a black line coming from it that looks like a violin with the neck of the violin pointing to the rear of the spider, resulting in the nicknames fiddleback spider, brown fiddler or violin spider.

Please note that some have challenged these photos and the validity of the claim that this might be the spider bite as described. We would like to share the link at http://www.hoax-slayer.com/brown-recluse.html . This however does not change the message that you should seek medical attention ASAP!!
