A 28-year-old pilot was seriously injured when his light aircraft crash-landed on a farm outside Ladybrand on Tuesday, Free State paramedics said.
He sustained multiple fractures and suspected head and chest injuries, ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, was found lying on the wing of the aircraft.
He was airlifted to the Bloemfontein Medi-Clinic.
The cause of the accident was not known, but authorities were on scene investigating.
