A twenty two year factory worker is in a critical condition after an explosion at a factory in Viljoenskroon about 30km from Kroonstad this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man in a very critical condition. He had sustained about 40 percent burns to his body and was in a lot of pain. Advanced life support intervention had to be performed on the patient by means of fluid and pain medication. The patient was rushed to Welkom Medi-Clinic where he was seen to by the trauma staff and later moved to the ICU for further medical care.
