Woman Dies on Pretoria Train Tracks

A woman has been killed after she was allegedly knocked by a train on the tracks near the Belle Ombre Station in Pretoria.

ER24 paramedics were called to the train tracks near the corners of Boom and Paul Kruger streets in Pretoria after there were reports of a woman that had been knocked by a train. The train was allegedly travelling toward the Belle Ombre Station and the woman is believed to have been standing on the tracks. It is at this stage not clear as to whether the train was a goods or passenger train as the train was no longer at the scene.

The driver of the train allegedly alerted the railway officials to the incident.

The woman’s age was not able to be identified as she had sustained multiple and extensive injuries. It is not clear as to who the woman was or the reason she had been on the train tracks. Paramedics declared the woman deceased at the scene.

The police attended the scene and will investigate the details further.
