Two boys die on rail tracks in Paarl area

Two children were killed when they were hit by a train in the Paarl area on Wednesday.

Details of the incident remain unclear.

Western Cape Emergency Medical Services paramedics were called to the scene.

Spokesperson Keri Davids said the two boys were under the age of three.

This is the second incident in the past few months in which children have died on the province’s tracks.

The previous incident saw two young siblings killed by a train in Manenberg earlier this year.
