Early Morning Accident on M4 Leaves Fifteen Injured


Fifteen people including a small baby have sustained injuries after accident involving two light motor vehicles and a taxi on the M4 (Ruth First) Highway heading towards Umhlanga near the Broadway on ramp this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the taxi in the centre medium, slightly sticking into the right hand lane, while the back of the light motor vehicle had smashed into the side of the passenger door and was blocking the left hand lane of the highway. The commuters of the taxi were found outside of the vehicle by the time emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

All the patients were treated on the scene for various injuries that they had sustained from the accident. Emergency personnel from various ambulances services worked hand in hand to treat all the patients before they were transported to various hospitals in the greater Durban area for further medical care.

It is unclear who was at fault but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
