A man and a woman have been killed and their baby left with critical injuries after their car crashed under a truck at the Brandvlei Crossing in Randfontein.
It seems that the large double trailer coal truck skidded out across the road and the family’s car was not able to stop and crashed right underneath the truck. Sadly, the woman and man in the two front seats did not survive the accident as the front of the car was completely wrecked and nothing more could be done for them.
The 18 month old baby sustained multiple critical injuries and was rushed to hospital by the local provincial services. At this stage we are not sure whether the baby is a little boy or girl.
The driver of the truck was left with no physical injuries.
The exact details surrounding the cause of the accident will be investigated by the local authorities who attended the scene.
