Woman Critically Injured after Accident with Taxi

A taxi and Hyundai Getz collided into one another this morning at the corners of Broadway and 8th Streets in Kensington.

ER24 paramedics that arrived first at the scene were immediately shown to where the 42 year old woman was lying near the passenger side of the Getz. The woman was in a critical condition and she had allegedly been pulled out of the car by bystanders. She was the driver of the Getz and after the impact of the taxi into the passenger side of the car she had been flung from the drivers seat into the passenger side.

The woman was quickly stabilised by the paramedics and was taken to Milpark Hospital where she was handed over in a critical condition. She would need treatment for severe chest injuries as well as multiple other injuries.

The driver of the taxi sustained minor injuries and was also removed from the scene to hospital by ambulance. Fortunately the taxi was empty at the time of the accident and there were no other injuries reported on scene.
