Two men have sustained serious burn wounds after they were connecting to an electricity source in the Gika Jo Township in Pietermaritzburg.
Both of the men are believed to be aged around their early 30’s, and the reason for them using an unprotected electricity source is at this stage under investigation.
The two men were severely burnt across the surface of their hands, arms, chests, faces and necks. These burns are deemed serious, and will need the appropriate care at a medical facility immediately. Both men were alert and orientated as to what had happened, but their conditions were rapidly deteriorating. Paramedics at the scene quickly treated their burn wounds as best they could and prepared them for ambulance transportation to a medical facility.
Both men were taken by ambulance to Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
