A father and son have sustained moderate injuries after their Honda Jazz collided into the back of an official vehicle on the Ventersdorp Road (R53) about 20km outside of Potchefstroom this morning.

Paramedics from Potchefstroom arrived on the scene and found both father and son standing outside of the vehicle. The patients were examined and found they had suffered moderate injuries and were treated for possible neck and back injuries and minor abrasions. They were stabilised and placed on specialised boards and transported to Mediclinic Potchefstroom for further medical care.

It is believed that the father was taking his son to a rehab centre as the son had been involved in a motor vehicle collision six months and was going for treatment in Potchefstroom when the accident occurred. It is unclear who was at fault but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
