Two unrelated accidents on the N4 near Bronkhorstspruit

[Bronkhorstspruit 7 February 2012 13:00]

Two vehicles have overturned in two unrelated accidents on the N4 near the Bronkhorstspruit turn off. Both vehicles were traveling in the direction of Pretoria when the accidents happened.

A Chery hatchback allegedly rolled up the roadside embankment and then down again, coming to rest on its wheels in the road, just near the Bronkhorstspruit turn off. It is believed that a small child had been severely injured, but the extent of the injuries to the child is not known as the child was taken to hospital by a private vehicle before paramedics had arrived at the scene. No other vehicles had been involved.

The second incident happened just on the other side of the turn off, a short distance away from the other accident, but is believed to have taken place around the same time.

A Hyundai Light Delivery Vehicle had rolled into the road. Fortunately none of the occupants had been injured, but traffic was stopped while the vehicle was removed.

The cause of either of the two incidents is not known at this stage and will need to be determined by the relevant authorities.
