Twenty Nine People Injured In Collision in Durban


[DURBAN – 10 FEBRUARY 2012 AT 08H30]

Twenty nine people have sustained various injuries after three taxis and a light motor vehicle collided on Berea Road near to Botanical Gardens this morning.

ER24 and emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found all the vehicles in the left hand lane of Berea Road. A light motor vehicle was found in between two of the taxis. The commuters of the taxis were found outside of the vehicle and seated on the floor next to the accident. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that twenty nine patients had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on scene before they were transported to various hospitals in the greater Durban area for further medical care.

The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further but traffic was severely affected due to the collision.
