Taxi losing control In Marianhill Leaves 15 Injured

Fifteen commuters including the driver of a taxi have sustained injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in lost control on Umhlatazana Road near to Tshelimnyama Road in Marianhill this morning.

ER24 paramedics along with EMRS arrived on the scene and found the taxi had crashed through a wall and landed on some rocks. The commuters were found outside of the taxi with the driver mechanically entrapped.
Eight patients were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and suspected broken bones. The remaining seven patients were treated for minor cuts and abrasions. The Jaws of Life was used to free the driver from the wreckage.

Patients were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
