A 11 year old boy sustained some injuries this morning following a rugby incident in Vanderbijlpark.
The boy was allegedly playing an informal game of rugby with some of his friends before the first school bell. He then allegedly tried to tackle a player from the opposing team when he sustained the injury.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the child still on the field. Paramedics promptly dispatched the ER24 Discovery Medicopter to the scene.
The boy received treatment at the scene for suspected back and neck injuries before being airlifted to Union Hospital for further medical care.
