A male pedestrian has died this afternoon after he was struck by a car while attempting to cross the N1 highway in Maraisburg.
The man, believed to be aged 40, was attempting to cross the busy highway when he was struck by a car in the third lane. When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the man still in the road. The man had sustained various fatal injuries and was unfortunately later declared dead at the scene.
The occupants of the vehicle sustained no injuries in the collision. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
