Driver Has narrow Escape In Pietermaritzburg Crash

[PIETERMARITZBURG, KZN – 24 MAY 2012 AT 17H00]

A woman believed to be in her mid thirties had a narrow escape after losing control of her vehicle on Thorton Road in Pietermaritzburg and veering off the road and coming to a halt almost 50 meters down an embankment.

ER24 paramedics from Pietermaritzburg arrived on the scene and found the car at the bottom of the embankment. The paramedics made their way down and to the vehicle and found the woman still inside. They assessed her and found she was complaining of pains to her neck and back. They used specialised equipment to stabilise her and transported her to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

It is believed that she may have had some sort of mechanical problem which caused her to lose control of her vehicle and go down the embankment.
