Man injured in N2 Durban collision

[Chesterville, KZN 5 July 2012, 22:40]

One man sustained various injuries this evening following a single vehicle collision on the N2 highway in Durban.

The events leading up to the collision is unclear, but a light passenger vehicle had allegedly lost control coming around a bend. The vehicle then crashed through a Armco barrier before rolling down an embankment and coming to a standstill on its roof.

ER24 paramedics who later arrived at the scene found the only occupant in the vehicle had been ejected from the wreck as it overturned. The man, aged in his late 20’s, had sustained serious injuries in the form of a suspected back, neck and abdominal injury as well as a broken left leg.

Paramedics treated the patient at the scene before transporting him to a nearby medical facility for further care. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
