A driver of a Hilux bakkie is in a serious condition after losing control and crashing into a lamp post on the N1 just past the Koeberg interchange in the direction of Cape Town this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie off the road and were resting in vegetation alongside the highway. The paramedics assessed the patient and found that the patient had a suspected head injury with possible broken ribs. The patient also had cuts to his legs and arms. He was stabilised on scene and transported to Somerset Hospital for further medical care.
It is believed that the driver may have lost control of his bakkie due to wet weather conditions on the roads.
