15 injured in Linden taxi accident

15 people sustained various injuries this evening following a minibus taxi accident on the corners of Molibongwe and Boundary road in Linden.

The exact cause of the collision is unclear, but the minibus taxi had allegedly collided with a roadside curb. The vehicle then overturned multiple times and crashed through a lamp post.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found various occupants from the taxi scattered around the scene. A 11 year old child had sustained injuries to his face as well as suspected back, neck and shoulder injuries. Another man, believed to be aged 39, had sustained suspected back and neck injuries. Both patients received treatment at the scene before being transported to Charlotte Maxeke hospital for further care.

All the remaining patients were treated at the scene before being transported to various hospitals by various ambulance services.

Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
