Three vehicles collide in Midrand

A Land Rover crashed into the side of a Mercedes on Olifantsfontein road outside of Savannah Hills in Midrand this evening, leaving five people with serious to minor injuries and one person deceased.

Paramedics arrived on scene and found that the Mercedes had rolled following the initial impact and had then collided with a Toyota Corolla. Six people had been injured in the accident and paramedics immediately started assessing and treating their injuries.

Two people were in a serious condition, where one of them later died as a result of their injuries where during treatment, the patient’s condition deteriorated and resuscitation efforts were initiated. Sadly the patient did not survive and was declared dead.

Three adults and a 13 year old boy were treated for their minor to moderate injuries and taken by ambulance along with the seriously injured patient to hospitals in the area.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
