[AMANZIMTOTI, KZN – 13 NOVEMBER 2012 AT 11H30]
A fiver year old girl is in a serious condition after getting into difficulty while swimming in the sea just off Amanzintoti main beach this morning.
ER24 paramedics rushed to the beach and found the young girl lying on the beach with members of public gathered around. Paramedics assessed the girl and found she had taken in a lot of water and needed Advanced Life Support intervention. She was placed on a specialised board and carried to the ambulance before she was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
It is believed that the young girl was with her sister when she got into difficulty in the water. A passing fisherman saw the girl floating and quickly went to her aid. It is unclear how long she was in the water for before she was found.
