Twelve School Children Injured After Bakkie Crashes Into Taxi

[EDENDALE, KZN – 14 NOVEMBER 2012 AT 08H00]

Twelve school children all suffered minor injuries after the bakkie they were travelling in collided into a taxi on FJ Sithole Road in Edendale this morning.

ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene and found the bakkie with extensive damage to the front with the taxi just off to the side of the road. The taxi had no commuters in it at the time and only had the driver who had not sustained any injuries. The twelve children who were all at the back of the vehicle had sustained minor cuts and abrasions. They were transported to a nearby clinic for further medical care.

It is believed that the driver of the bakkie lost control because of wet weather conditions and slammed into the taxi that was travelling in the opposite direction.
