A 36 year old man has been badly injured after two trucks collided with one another on the N12 just before the Sundra/Eloff road off ramp.
A construction truck is believed to have been in the emergency lane when the container truck then came past. The truck was literally ripped in half, with the canon of the container truck having been ripped and crushed. The 36 year old man was the only occupant of the truck at the time, and he was found still stuck in between the crushed metal remains of the cabin.
The patient was removed by rescuers and placed into a waiting ambulance. He was treated for head injuries, possible broken bones and multiple other injuries. He was taken to a hospital in the area where he will receive further medical treatment.
