Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to reports of a serious accident on the N2 south bound past the M41 on ramp at 15:45 today.

On arrival, paramedics found 4 seriously injured people lying across the road way after being ejected from the back of bakkie. The injured were stabilised and immobilised for a variety of injuries before being transported to hospital for the further care they required.

[From on scene reports, it is thought that the bakkie lost control in the fast lane of the busy freeway before rolling causing the occupants in the back to be flung from the moving vehicle before coming to a rest on a grass embankment. ]

Emergency services were assisted by Metro Police and Metro Fire in ensuring that traffic was restricted to enable paramedics to work on the injured. The resulting accident caused serve traffic backlogs on the N2 and M41.
