Construction workers injured on site

Incident time: 11:30

Three construction workers have been injured as a result of a falling steel rebar at a construction site on Senna street in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town this morning.

ER24, the Fire and Rescue team and the Western Cape DoH Emergency Medical Services team arrived at the scene of the incident and found the three men near to where they had been struck by the falling steel. It is not clear as to what happened, but it appears that the steel rebar was being brought to the top of the structure by a crane when it allegedly came loose and the bar then crashed down on top of them.

Luckily they were not too badly injured but they required medical attention. They were all stable and received the appropriate treatment on scene before being transported to Mediclinic Milnerton for further care.
