A man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a train near the Berea Road railway station this morning. Reports indicate that the man was trying to cross the lines when he fell in front of the train.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the man had gone into cardiac arrest. Immediate resuscitation started and within a few minutes they managed to get the man’s heart started again. After he was placed on a ventilator and deftly immobilized, they transported the patient to a nearby hospital for the care that he required.
