Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident scene on the N12 near Stilfontein in the North West Province, last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a pedestrian had sustained critical injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle.
After the man was treated on scene, he was transported to a nearby medical facility for the medical care that he required.
Exact details to the cause of the accident and preceding events are unclear at this stage.
