Fourteen people were injured, one critically so, after a taxi overturned along Prospecton Road outside Toyota this morning at 07h30. Reports from the scene indicate that the taxi collided with a trailer before overturning, the vehicle coming to rest on its side against a concrete wall with a female trapped under the wreckage.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the bystanders had lifted the taxi from the injured female. After triaging the injured they found one person in a critical condition, six sustained serious injuries while seven escaped with minor injuries.
After the injured were stabelised on scene, medics transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
