A driver believed to be in his sixties has died after being involved in a head on collision involving a light motor vehicle and a taxi on Marairsburg Road in Marairsburg this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the two vehicles in the road with extensive damage to both. Paramedics assessed the driver of both vehicles and found that the driver of the light motor vehicle had suffered very fatal and traumatic injuries and was declared deceased on scene. The driver of the taxi was treated for suspected neck and back injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
