A 25 year old man has sustained critical head injuries after allegedly being assaulted by a group of people. According to witnesses, the man was trying to rob a store at the Clearwater Mall when he then ran down Hendrick Potgieter street.
The group of civilians then ran after the man and stopped him at the intersection of Christiaan de Wet. He had suffered critical head injuries and was placed onto life support by ER24 paramedics and doctor. The assistance of AER24 was then called in to airlift the man to a nearby hospital where he will receive further medical care.
Details surrounding the incident and events leading up to the man suffering critical injuries will be investigated by local authorities.
