Two men in their thirties are in a serious condition after being struck by a light motor vehicle on the R102 close to Avoca this morning. Eye witnesses say that the driver of the vehicle appeared to have lost control, colliding with the pedestrians.
ER24 Durban Paramedics arrived on scene to find the two men in a serious but stable condition on the centre median.
They were treated on scene for suspected broken bones and placed on specialised stretchers for care if their suspected neck and spinal injuries before they were transported by ambulance to a near by hospital for further treatment. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the collision.
Local authorities were on scene and will investigate the matter further.
