A man in his 30’s has been found burnt to death in his home in the Frans Location in Pietermaritzburg this morning. The man was staying in the back room of his tuck shop when the incident happened.
It is understood that the man’s family went to look for him and found the doors to his home to be locked and the signs of a fire visible. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and they had to break into the man’s home to get inside.
They found that the man had suffered extensive burn injuries and there were no longer any signs of life upon initial assessment. The man was declared dead on scene. The details surrounding the fire are not known and are currently under investigation by local authorities.
