16 year old injured by “runaway” taxi

accidents_default1

The 16 year old young man was helping out at his uncle’s car wash on Underwood road in Pinetown this morning at around 10am when he was injured in what appears to be a freak accident.

As they were washing a customers taxi, they released the handbrake to move the vehicle out of the bay but for some reason the taxi then began to roll away from them and it ended up pinning the young man up against a wall between the wall and the taxi.

Paramedics were called to the scene and they found the 16 year old to have sustained a badly broken leg and he was transported to RK Khans hospital for further care under Advanced Life Support observation. They had given the patient medication to ease his pain and he was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

No one else was injured as a result of the “runaway” taxi.
