A twenty eight year old man is in a critical condition following a quad biking accident north of Durban this afternoon.
ER24 Durban paramedics were called to the sugar cane fields near to the popular Sibaya Casino at approximately 13h30 this afternoon. On arrival they found the man had suffered severe chest and spinal injuries after he was ejected from his quad bike.
Advanced life support intervention was administered on the scene and the man was placed on a specialised stretcher. AER24’s ER5 helicopter was activated and the man was airlifted to Life Entabeni Hospital for the immediate further care he required.
He remains in a critical but stable condition at present.
