A female in her thirties and cat is in a serious condition after being bitten by a night adder in the Harrison area of Inchanga tonight at around 20h30. Reports indicate that the female and the animal were walking towards their house when they got close to the entrance the snake struck them both.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and after stabilizing the female they transported her to an area hospital in Pietermaritzburg for the care that she required, paramedics made arrangements and had the feline taken to a local vet for further care.
