A man in his sixties sustained serious injuries after he fell into a four-meter trench in the Motherwell area of Port Elizabeth this afternoon at around 15h40. Exact detail to the cause of the incident will remain a subject for investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and had to clamber into the trench to treat the injured man. After he was stabilized on the scene and deftly immobilized on a trauma board medics had to hoist the patient out of the trench before transporting the man to a Netcare hospital for the care that he required.
