Rescue Care paramedics were called to the N2 South bound just after Umgeni Road for a multiple car pile up.
On arrival paramedics found that a truck and three cars had collided closing most of the south bound carriageway leaving only the fast lane open for traffic to flow. Paramedics assessed the scene and found that five people from various vehicles had sustained various injuries. All the injured were stabilized on the scene before being transported by various Durban hospitals for further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was severely affected as both south bound and north bound carriageways were affected.
