A female sustained serious injuries after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Mansfield and Botanical Gardens Roads this morning at around 10h30. Details to the cause of the accident and preceding events are still sketchy and will form part of the police investigation.
The Netcare 911 Rescue unit arrived at the scene and found a female still trapped in the twisted frame of her car. While the rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to remove the side of the vehicle, medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilize her.
After the injured female were placed on a trauma board and stabilized they transported her to a local hospital for the care that she required.
