Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on Solomon Mahlangu Drive in Faerie Glen, Pretoria, this morning after 07h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a cyclist in his late twenties was in a critical condition after he was knocked over by a light delivery vehicle.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital for the urgent medical care he required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
