Five people have been left injured, one of them critically, following a collision between a mini bus taxi and a light motor vehicle last night.
ER24 Durban paramedics arrived on the scene at the busy intersection of Berea and Essenwood Roads to find the light motor vehicle had collided with the minibus causing it to roll before coming to rest on its side.
The injured occupants of the vehicles were treated on scene by paramedics and Advanced Life Support intervention was initiated on a man in his late twenties who had sustained critical chest injuries.
He was transported to hospital by ambulance for further care. He later succumbed to his injuries and died at approximately 3am.
The cause of the collision is unknown but local authorities were on the scene and investigations are under way.
