A female sustained moderate injuries after a lighting strike in Portland Road, Pietermaritzburg this evening at around 21h00. Reports from the scene indicate that the lady was outside an industrial area when the lightning struck the ground near her.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the patient lying on the ground, after they treated the patient on scene they transported her to a local hospital for the care that she required.
