Twelve people have been injured after a taxi and a car collided along Palmiet Road, Clair estate this afternoon at around 14h41. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other emergency services arrived at the scene and found the roadway severely obstructed with accident debris and the twisted remains of the vehicles. After triaging the injured it was found that a four – month- old -girl had sustained critical injuries, five people were in a serious condition while six others miraculously escaped with minor injuries.
After paramedics stabilised the patients at the scene they transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
